Just over a week ago, a team of runners took on a barrage of paint and foam in the Brighton 5k Color Run, all with the aim of raising money for vulnerable women in crisis, individuals without homes and hundreds of young people supported every month by Off The Fence!

The team’s challenge was to run through four consecutive paint zones with paints of varying colours being pelted at them throughout, as well as taking on the all new Foam Zone (effectively just like running through a giant bubble bath)!

Having taken on the full course which stretched from Brighton marina to the east pier and back- with a steep ramp mid-way thrown in for good measure- all the team managed to complete the run in under 25 minutes! An amazing time, especially considering the crowds that the foam zone and paint zones attracted along the way, and the issue of breathing whilst running through plumes of coloured smoke!

Fundraising Manager Hannah, who took part, says “Beforehand, I was actually dreading it a little...I’m really not a runner, and can’t say I enjoy running at all. Even 5k seemed like a stretch for me! Having completed it, I definitely now have different thoughts about running - and really enjoyed the hype and festival-like setup that the Color Run created on the day. There was such a brilliant atmosphere on the morning, and it really was geared towards an all ages and all abilities. I’d 100% recommend the Color Run to anyone thinking about supporting Off The Fence by doing this particular challenge.”
