This event, hosted by the Schools Teams from both Brighton and Hove City Mission and Off The Fence Trust, brings together Christians who are involved in all aspects of the education community within and outside our City for a few hours each term.

This term’s event was focused on the twin themes of looking back on the year and going forward into the summer.

The first theme, looking back, helped us think about where God has been at work in the past year in our schools. Those attending were asked to reflect on this in groups, and then various people shared their personal stories with the whole group.

The second theme of going forward into the summer was given over to Dan Henderson of St Andrews Church in Hove. He spoke of the encounter Mary and Martha had with Jesus in Luke’s gospel (10:38-42). Dan spoke about the need to be like Mary first and sit at the feet of Jesus, before being like Martha and getting on with the activities of the day.

From this challenging message of spending time with Jesus first, Dan prayed a commissioning prayer over and for those attending that evening. Huge thanks to Dan and all who attended the event.

Look out for updates in the coming weeks with CIE dates for the next academic year!
