Huge thanks to those who have been part of Christians in Education this year!

At our final event of the academic year it was great to hear talks on: 'Embracing a New Start.'

Dave Etherton kicked us off by taking us through the changes that have happened in Shoreham over the past months and years. He's seen many changes as his school has grown from one to two form entry. Now he's taken on the challenge of starting a new school from scratch. All with the vision of seeing more children in Church of England schools having the opportunity to learn about Jesus. Life is full of new starts, but even though this isn't always easy our God of wisdom guides us through.

Next Sarah Gurtler spoke to us about her experiences of change whilst studying as a student at Lancing college. In the 1st year of 6th form, Sarah confessed that she wasn't a fan of change, but whenever she was afraid of something new she was reminded of a song she learned as a child which says 'God is bigger than anything we are unsure of'. Great to hold onto big truths about a big God when things around us are uncertain.

Finally, it was great to welcome back Emma Ham-Riche, formally of B&H City Mission, now training for ministry. She took us beautifully through the life of Jesus' disciples, looking at the new starts they had to embrace whilst following Jesus. New starts can be exciting, bewildering, exhilarating, terrifying... but in the end we come back to the words of encouragement that Jesus spoke in Matthew 28: 'I am with you always, to the end of the age.'

Christians in Education will be back on 15th November - why not join us and put the date in your diary?
