Make your time matter!

Last Wednesday evening, six hardy souls braved the icy blast to attend out very first Volunteer Information Evening where they learned about the amazing work that happens at Off the Fence, the history of the projects and how they could get involved. All attendees were very keen to sign up to a range of volunteering roles and are now awaiting the next step to meet with the team and get to know the projects. On the same evening, we also ran the third training session for existing volunteers, with a group being taught some of the skills needed to go out on the street with our Antifreeze outreach teams. Interested in getting involved with Off The Fence too?

Why volunteer?

  • Feel rewarded - Using your time to give something back feels amazing and makes a real difference to the lives of the people we support.
  • Meet like-minded people - Volunteering is a great way to meet other people with similar interests within your community.
  • Use your skills to help others - Whether you want to put your existing skills to good use or learn something new, we can support you.
  • Flexible – We have volunteer roles designed to fit around your available time.
  • Keep busy and active – From going out on evening outreach to mentoring in a school, organising your own fundraiser or being available occasionally to collect discarded clothing at the Brighton Marathon, we have a range of activities for you to get involved with.
