Off The Fence has been going through some changes in staff in recent weeks. To our delight, one of those changes has included welcoming a new Assistant Fundraiser to join our Fundraising Team, Donna Williamson.

How has your time in the fundraising team been so far?
"My time so far is short compared to the Off The Fence journey, however I have learnt so much of how Off The Fence contribute to the community and support those that are struggling on a daily basis."

Tell us a bit about the role you play in the fundraising team and how you came to be here?
"My role is currently focused on corporate fundraising and engaging businesses with the work of Off The Fence. Previously I worked for Barclays bank as a business bank manager, looking after over 1000 businesses in the Brighton and Hove area.  I contacted Off The Fence this year to volunteer at the women’s drop in centre – Gateway.  From this, I discovered the vacancy with Off The Fence and felt that I could contribute to the team."

What in particular excites you about working at Off The Fence?
"I am very excited to be working in the community and to make a difference in people’s lives."

What is your favourite thing about working and living in Brighton?
"I love that Brighton has so much to offer.  My favourite thing about Brighton is the people.  Brighton has the most interesting, colourful, friendly, open minded, positive people I have met.  I believe it is the people that give Brighton the wonderful vibe it has."

What would you say to someone interested in holding a fundraising event for off the fence?
Businesses now have a Corporate Responsibility and are committed to supporting our communities.  Wherever you work, whether you are the director or the employee, please think of us when you are choosing your charities for the year or if you would like to have a dress down day, raffle, cake sale or charity run.  We are grateful for all funds raised and every penny goes to saving lives."
