We are overjoyed to have had 3 brilliant runners in the Brighton Half Marathon on 26th February this year! One of them was Paul Huxley who raised £340! We wanted to find out a bit more about why he ran and how the experience went…
What is it that you made you want to run the Brighton Half Marathon for Off The Fence?
"I wanted to support Off the Fence for a few reasons. Firstly, someone, many years ago, suggested that I could run the Brighton Half Marathon for Off the Fence, so it was planted in my mind. But I've been keeping an eye on the charity's excellent work for several years now - it's a small, local charity which does work that I wholeheartedly believe in, so it's an obvious fit."
Did you enjoy it? Was there anything in particular you enjoyed about taking part?
"It was only my second organised run so I don't have too much to compare it to! There are some great views of the sea and Brighton itself as you run around, and the crowd were great. But, to be honest, I was much more focused on getting around than enjoying it - and I was really pleased with my result."
What would you say to others considering doing an event or supporting Off The Fence in some way?
"Do it! I really believe in supporting smaller charities in this kind of way and Off the Fence is a great charity that makes a real impact in the local community!"
Another big well done to Paul and our other runners who ran the 13 mile challenge!
