Volunteer
Our volunteers are who bring the OTF mission to life.
We currently have around 35 volunteers working across our three programmes in a range of roles. Our current volunteer vacancies are below, but if you have a skill that you think would benefit us in a way you don’t see listed below, please get in touch.
Events:
We operate several large events across the year, on average once a month. These include community events such as fairs, the Christmas Festival, our Big Sleep Out; Woolly Hat Day and more. Please contact our Core Team.
Antifreeze:
A variety of different roles including homeless day centre assistant; evening street outreach volunteer for rough sleepers, street outreach bag/trolley distribution assistant, prayer supporter etc. Please see more details of volunteer roles here or contact our Antifreeze Manager, Jen Carter.
Gateway Women’s Centre:
Volunteers support us at our groups and activities, and roles might involve sharing their skills, helping with hospitality, befriending-style conversations, and support with admin/behind-the-scenes support. Please contact the Gateway Centre Manager, Gen Fox for our current vacancies.
Schools:
Our Schools and Youth team support schoolchildren and staff in schools by providing one-to-one befriending and mentoring. DBS check necessary.
Please see more details of volunteer roles here or contact Schools and Youth Manager Lizzi Demetriou.
All our volunteers are subject to a DBS check.
Off the Fence is motivated by a Christian desire to see social justice and hope available to all. We look for volunteers who are sympathetic to this vision. If this sounds like you, download an application form.
We also have an intern program and you can find out more here.
